November 2017. A few images of a very enjoyable trip to Ortigia, Siracusa Sicily. Fortunately the weather was surprisingly warm and sunny most of the time so we were able to explore the south east of the island.
Mt Etna from the Greek Theatre, Taormina. Arguably my best image of this epic scene.
Waiting at Number Four. A random capture of a group of tourists enjoying the afternoon sun.
The rotunda of the Basilica Madonna delle Lacrime, Siracusa. My sincere apologies to anyone in prayer as I took this.
Mount Etna from the Greek Theatre, Taormina. The classic image of the active volcano as a backdrop to Taomina. You cannot guarantee the smoke and fire but at this time of year you can bet on snow on the peak.
Snow on Mount Etna. Using a long lens to try and capture the snow on the summit.
Apartments in Ortigia. Just catching the late afternoon sun on some typical Sicilian apartments.
Basilica Madonna delle Lacrime, Siracusa. A shot of the roof of the Basilica which was very impressive.
